Chair Safe Tile Floors

After having made the investment in tile flooring, the last thing you want is for your kitchen table chairs to rough up the surface. This is a concern for many considering tile flooring as well as those who have recently purchased it.

So what do most people do to assuage these worries? They purchase little pads to put on the legs of all their furniture. These pads, however, fall off and need to be replaced often. This is a pain to many home and apartment owners.

However, not all tiles scratch the same. The higher quality tiling can withstand a significant amount of wear and tear without any cosmetic degradation.

This is for two reasons. High quality tile is made of a mixture of natural minerals and elements which is robust and firm. Such tile tends to hold up under pressure from furniture and foot traffic for considerably longer than their weaker counterparts.

The second reason is that the best tile is coated in a much thicker and more resilient finish or glaze. Being that the surface of all tiles is glazed, a substantial finish is the most important factor in scratch-resistance. Therefore, if you spend a little extra on that fine Italian tile, not only will it last longer but it will maintain a virtually unblemished face for much longer as well.

This is what we mean by "chair-safe tiles."

There is no sense in buying a product you know is going to be damaged in your household.

Don’t waste your hard-earner capital. If your kitchen gets a lot of traffic you now know that chair-safe tile is the only way to go.
